Comalex, Inc. manufactures computer software designed to automate Point-Of-Sale (POS) food service operations in K-12 public and private schools and colleges.

History

Comalex, Inc. was organized in March 1992, to design and market software for school food service departments.

The Café Terminal and Café Central software packages were introduced in August 1992, to meet point-of-sale (POS) needs of school cafeterias. Through an aggressive marketing effort that included advertisements in major school publications, direct mail campaigns, and trade show exhibits, Café Terminal quickly became one of the major contenders in the school cafeteria POS market. In January 2004, Café Enterprise was introduced as a server-based POS and Meal Application Solution. Meal Application Scanning with the "Key From Image" feature was added in 2008.
